I worked with Robert Hoyt back in the 1990s. He’s a great songwriter and a great American. And he was spot-on with Genesis 3:16. Thanks for shouting him out!

You have no idea (you probably do though) how relieved I am to have found this blog. I have been a Christian all of my life, and so far still am. However, my rational was always, well 90% of the world believes it, and there are a bunch of people smarter than me who believe it, so why not? I started having doubts about that, and am now in a limbo: still saying i’m Christian, while exploring other options. Unlike you, I have friends that I talk to about this, mainly during Lunch at school. They don’t really agree with me, but it’s not about atheism/agnostic vs Christian and religion. At least not for me, that is. It’s about the Truth. I felt the exact same way about this story, and was so glad that someone else thought that God was playing a cruel joke on us. I used a pot when I talked to my friends though: I said got was a sculptor, and either he purposely made a crack in the pot, or noticed the crack and left it. He then proceeded to pour water in the pot and punished the pot when water escaped. I’m currently in the process of reading the bible, and am very pleased that i’ve started. I’m reading you’re posts as a supplement to my reading. However, while people can try to find things in the bible to prove religous purposes, so can atheists/agnostics. Be wary that you’re not being biased, or looking for whats wrong. I know you’ve already finished the Bible, but I’d like to thank you for what you’ve accomplished here: it’s sure to help me in my quest for the Truth.

You may also want to check out some comments people left on Atheist Nexus: it sounds like Tulsa County and the state of New Jersey also consider Good Friday a holiday. One guy couldn't get his towed car back because of the state shutting down! Are there any other places officially observing Good Friday?

I wouldn’t doubt it. Fortunately for us, though, Mojoey’s blog isn’t shallow. One might disagree with its perspective (or the one which is presented on my blog), but shallow it is not.

It’s on PBS, so it depends on where you live what channel it’s on. The PBS website http://www.pbs.org should help people find out when it’s on by them.
